Osama Bin Laden
This is a student project where I had to illustrate an article called, "At Home with Osama Bin Laden: The Basement Tapes". The article was about recordings of Osama having conversations about cooking eggs and telling jokes. These recordings portrayed him as a average person rather than a demonic figure.
Looking at Byzantine portraits for inspiration and moving through multiple variations, I stumbled onto something with the appropriate tone. The final is acrylic and colored pencil on grey board. Size 8 x 10.5
